About the studio

World of Dreads is a braids and dreads studio in Nha Trang, open since 2023. Its founder Lesya became a hairdresser and braider in 2017: she wanted more than just working with hair — she wanted to create unusual looks. After trying braids on herself and mastering professional braiding techniques, she devoted herself to it entirely.

Moving to Vietnam continued a long-held dream of living and working abroad. Nha Trang is where that dream became a studio of her own. The name World of Dreads is a play on words inspired by the founder's favourite game, World of Warcraft.

To us, braids and dreads mean freedom of self-expression — a chance to experiment and feel like yourself. We create hairstyles not only for a striking result, but for the comfort of the person who will wear them every day.

All our artists have hairdressing training and take your hair and scalp into account. We choose the right technique and set weight, make reusable sets by hand, work with different textures and shades, and explain how to care for your style and remove it safely.

Our guests are travellers, Nha Trang locals and people from all over the world. Many come back year after year, recommend us to friends and travel from other cities to get braided. We value that trust and make every visit comfortable.

Artists

Lesya, Founder & artist. Hairdresser and braider since 2017. Specialises in natural dreads and signature sets, and has taught master classes for braiders in cities across Russia. Loves complex creative challenges and treats every set as a piece of its own. Outside the studio: World of Warcraft and fanfiction.
Katya, Artist. Hairdresser and braider since 2017. Makes and attaches sets, works with classic braids and natural dreads, and is especially fast at attaching ready-made sets. Draws, does cosplay and epoxy resin art — she makes our cat-skull hair pins by hand. Trained first as a railway engineer.
Marina, Artist. Trained as a seamstress and hairdresser, braiding since 2018. Makes and attaches sets, with a sharp eye for detail and very neat work. Into K-pop, anime, Formula 1 and wrestling — and has watched One Piece seven times.

The girls are true professionals — after so many braidings my hair is intact and my scalp is healthy. FAQ

Will it damage my hair?

It depends on choosing the right style, skilled attaching, following the wear guidelines and careful removal. No one can guarantee zero damage, but we do everything to keep the risk minimal.

Does braiding hurt?

Attaching braids, dreads and curls shouldn't hurt. Some discomfort is possible during crochet maintenance of natural dreads. Tell your artist straight away if anything hurts or feels too tight.

Can I swim?

Yes, the styles are made for an active holiday, the sea and the pool. Rinse with fresh water and dry after swimming.

Is a set heavy to wear?

We make lightweight sets, but everyone's sensitivity differs. We choose the weight and volume based on your hair and wishes.
